Description
Summary:This study applied advanced oxidation process using ozone as oxidator and combined with UV for iron and organic matter removal from groundwater. Reactions took place in 2 litre batch reactor and using ozon source from corona discharge generator with variated air pump flowrate, 0.5, 1 and 2 lpm. Ozon potential oxidation were utilized to presipitate iron and the hydroxil radicals formed as AOP were utilized for organic matter removal. Through 20 minutes ozonation could reduced 90-98 % iron concentration and removed 33.3% organic matter as TOC. Organic removal increased to 100% with ozon-UV combination.

Iron removal trough ozon and ozon/UV application is followed pseudo first order reaction with rate constants in range 0,020 to 0,115 minutes with degree -1.
