The magnitude of force acting on the gravity structure depends on structure's diameter and wave period as formulated by Morison 's theory. In gravity structure analysis, mass of structure was modeled by lump mass; whereas the structure's element was assumed to behave as a beam. Wave loading which is continuously applied on the structure will result soil-structure interaction changing with time. The change of soil-structure interaction is elastic nonlinear refer to the hyperbolic model of shear modulus (Hardin and Drnevich, 1972). Furthermore, dynamic analysis of the gravity structure system is solved by Newmark method. The calculation is carried out by fortran program. Analysis of the outputs indicated that responses of the structure depend on structure's diameter, wave period and soil behavior. When the structure's diameter increase, the structure's response decrease. Whereas the increasing of wave period will increase force that is received by structures. Consequently, the structure's response increase. Therefore, the increasing of shear modulus will increase the stability of structure. text |
