Summary: | Infrastructure development can generate employment, stimulate industrial growth,
and encourage broader economic growth through multiplier effects. Inequity can
arise in various aspects of infrastructure development, such as inequitable
distribution of infrastructure benefits and unfair access for all communities. One
type of infrastructure is irrigation infrastructure, which has an important role in
agriculture, especially in rice fields to irrigate and provide water to the land. Most
of the area of Musi Rawas Regency is an agricultural area, therefore most of the
population earns a living as farmers. Thus, a suitable irrigation system is needed
to support this. In order for economic benefits to be enjoyed fairly and equitably by
all parties, this research tries to confirm and explore the distribution of economic
benefits from the development and management of irrigation infrastructure in Musi
Rawas Regency. The results were analyzed using mixed methods to determine the
relationship between economic benefits and community-based irrigation
infrastructure management. The results were analyzed using spatial analysis to
identify spatial distribution patterns of economic benefits. From this research, it is
concluded that the variable of land area, the variable of secondary canal distance,
and the variable of land conflict affect rice production. |
