STUDY OF COASTAL VULNERABILITY CAUSED BY SHORELINE CHANGE AROUND PANGANDARAN COAST 2001-2016

The study of shoreline change and vulnerability index of Pangandaran coastal area of 2001-2016 was done by remote sensing technology, data retrieval technique, and field interpretation. The image used was Landsat 7 process data of 2001 and 2002, and Landsat 8 for 2014 and 2016.The level of vulnerabi...

The image used was Landsat 7 process data of 2001 and 2002, and Landsat 8 for 2014 and 2016.The level of vulnerability is calculated from the score of ten physical variables of coastal vulnerability data. Study area of research was coastal area of Pangandaran Beach which is divided into 22 stations starting from Putrapinggan village (at east of Pangandaran) to Kertamukti Village (west part of pangandaran). The largest area of abrasion occurs in Batukaras Village area of 77,863 m2 in 2014 to 2016. The largest sedimentation area occurs in the Legokjawa area of 75,250 m2 during 2002 to 2014. The vulnerability of Pangandaran coastal area is divided into low, medium , high and very high. The area with the highest vulnerability is in Cibenda Village and the lowest vulnerability is in Karangjaladri Village. text
