With the issue of climate change becoming more pressing, green technology is crucial and requires immediate action on a large scale. As the current G20 presidency, Indonesia is actively addressing the topic of "Sustainable Energy Transition". Among the new and renewable energy sources with great potential in Indonesia is solar energy. However, the utilization of solar energy faces a challenge, as it requires a large area of land which can be difficult in areas with increasing populations. One solution is to utilize floating solar panels either in reservoirs or offshore. To determine the potential of using floating solar panels, environmental data such as solar irradiation, wind, currents, waves, bathymetry, population, and the cost of generating electricity are analysed to create technical potential and reliability index maps. Factors such as the government's de-dieselization program and the presence of electrical substations in the area must also be considered. Two areas with high multicriteria scores and negative variability indices, as well as areas with high multicriteria scores but low negative variability indices, were selected as pilot areas. Finally, the multicriteria analysis method is verified with capex analysis that includes mooring, floater, and PV module costs. text
