IDENTIFICATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT CILEUNYI-SUMEDANG-DAWUAN (CISUMDAWU) TOLL ROAD ON TOURIST VISIT IN SUMEDANG REGENCY

The construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road plays an important role in the areas it crosses, including the surrounding areas because it is able to increase connectivity between regions so that it can have implications for increasing regional income. Sumedang Regency as an area crossed by the Cisumdawu Toll Road so that it becomes an opportunity to optimize the impact of its development, especially on the tourism sector. The development of Cisumdawu Toll Road infrastructure will have a significant impact on the tourism sector, especially in tourist visits. The diversity of existing tourist attractions has the potential to be developed, so the existence of the Cisumdawu Toll Road is very beneficial for the tourism sector. However, this potential has not been optimally utilized for its development, resulting in inequality in tourist visits. This research was conducted to identify the impact of infrastructure development of Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan Toll Road (sections 1-3) on Tourism Visits in Sumedang Regency. The variables used in this study are tourist characteristics which include socio-demographic tourists and travel patterns, benefits of toll road construction, and variables that affect tourism development based on component 4A (attraction, accessibility, amenity, ancillary). The implementation of this research was carried out using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis methods, gap analysis, and factor analysis. The data collection method used was an online and offline questionnaire distributed through several social media platforms. The number of respondents to the questionnaire was 286 tourist respondents from the expected range of 280-560 respondents and 14 respondents from tourism managers. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that there were changes in the characteristics of tourist travel patterns before and after the Cisumdawu Toll Road. Tourists and tourism object managers also feel the benefits of Cisumdawu Toll Road infrastructure development in terms of shorter travel time, increased tourist visits, frequency of visits, comfort and safety, and wider coverage of tourist attractions. There are 3 factors that affect the development of tourism, namely services and prices, attractions and ease of access, as well as the distance of tourist sites to the city center, amenities, and supporting facilities. The most instrumental factor in the development of tourism is the service and price factor which is realized, one of which is through tour guides who can optimize services and provide appropriate prices in order to increase the attractiveness of tourist visits in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize access to tourist attractions as well as maintenance and addition of attractions to each tourist attraction in order to further increase tourist visits in Sumedang Regency.
