Description
Summary:Land use change is one of the many problems that pose a challenge to areas where agriculture is the main sector. On the other hand, infrastructure, which acts as the engine of economic development, is positioned in two different perspectives. Land use change is also defined as a consequence of economic growth. This is often a complicated problem for development actors, especially Lampung Tengah Regency, to be able to maintain the capability of the agricultural sector, among the construction of toll road infrastructure in the region. Therefore, an in-depth study is needed to identify whether the existence of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road has an influence on land use change in Lampung Tengah Regency as an agropolitan area which is one of the food barns in Lampung Province. The results were analyzed using Geographically Weighted Regression to obtain the relationship and contribution of related factors locally in each observed sub-district. The results of the analysis show that the existence of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road does not affect the increase in land use change. Meanwhile, the factors that influence the increase in land use change in Lampung Tengah Regency are population density, tourist attraction, and topography . Therefore, policy implementation related to land use change in Lampung Tengah Regency needs to review these factors.
