description |
Accessibility is an integral component of the tourism system that has an essential
role in connecting the tourist origin to tourist destinations and, in a broader
context, also influences the behavior of tourist mobility and tourism management.
The vulnerability of the tourism sector globally in the face of disaster conditions,
economic crises, and pandemic outbreaks has recently become a challenge to
generate tourism mobility that is safe, resilient, adaptive, and sustainable. It is the
right time period to answer these challenges by re-evaluating the tourism business
model, one of which is done through a smart mobility approach and the utilization
of technology in tourism accessibility. Building a smart mobility ecosystem in
tourism accessibility, especially in the type of nature tourism, can be pursued by
identifying and utilizing quantitative indicators to create efficient mobility and low
or less impact on the environment.
Considering the nature of smart mobility application on nature-based tourism, this
study focuses on limits the scope of the study area to Bogor Regency and Semarang
City, which have both issued smart city master plan. Furthermore, this study
compares of smart mobility performance on nature-based tourism accessibility in
Bogor Regency and Semarang City by identifying relevant indicators, measuring a
synthetic index, and comparing its application in each Bogor Regency and
Semarang City study area. To achieve the research objectives, several analytical
methods consisting of 4 (four) stages were used, namely: (i) content analysis by
identifying relevant indicators of smart mobility on nature-based tourism
accessibility based on relevant literature and policies; (ii) semi-AHP technique to
aggregate calculation analysis for weighting, standardization, and aggregation of
indicators and variables; (iii) synthetic index analysis by measuring the
performance of smart mobility on nature-based tourism accessibility by identifying
the existence of indicators and calculating their synthetic index values; and (iv)
descriptive analysis by comparing the implementation of smart mobility on naturebased tourism accessibility in both study areas.
This study discovered that there are several similarities and differences in
performance in the comparative analysis of smart mobility performance on natureiv
based tourism accessibility in Bogor Regency and Semarang City identified through
the formulation of 6 variables and 39 indicators of smart mobility on nature-based
tourism accessibility, including the accessibility of long-distance tourists the
accessibility of local tourists, mobility barriers, mobility security, innovation of
traffic regulation and monitoring systems, and transportation and tourism services.
Then, from the performance measurement of 39 indicators on 10 nature-based
destinations that represent each study area, the results show that Semarang City
has a total index value of smart mobility performance of 6.02 or has better
performance than the achievement of Bogor Regency, which obtained a total index
value of smart mobility performance of 4.03. |
