Description
Summary:Active power signal fluctuations in the system will affect the frequency deviation signal. The relationship between solar irradiation and wind speed signals to the frequency deviation signal will be analyzed. To achieve this, a numerical analysis approach is used by transforming the time domain signal into a frequency domain signal using the Discrete Fourier Transform. The solar irradiation and wind speed signals of PV and wind turbine generators were also evaluated using a correlation analysis of the frequency deviation signal to determine which generator has a significant contribution to the power imbalance in the system. Wind speed and solar irradiation signals in the frequency domain will be analyzed by eliminating the magnitude of certain frequency sequences to reduce system frequency fluctuations. The results of the DFT analysis produce lower wind speed fluctuation data and solar irradiation which will be reused for simulations to obtain new frequency deviations using Quasi Dynamic Analysis which also be compared to RMS method as design aspect considering some criteria. The frequency deviation of the system after DFT analysis has fluctuations which comply with the Grid Code standard. Meanwhile, the results of the correlation analysis show that wind turbine generators are the main contributor to fluctuations in the frequency deviation signal in the time domain so that it violates the Grid Code. A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) can be installed at the plant to compensate for active power fluctuations. Based on the correlation analysis, BESS is placed at the PLTB terminal to produce the permissible frequency deviation.
