Summary: | The Students' Co-(Working & Living) Hub project is located on Jalan Ranggagading, Bandung Wetan District, Bandung City. This project has three main functions. First, this project provides many residential functions. The clients of this project are property investors. This residential function is supported by two other functions, namely the function as a container for activities in the form of coworking space and is equipped with the function of commercial space as a provider of user needs while they are there. This project aims to meet the needs of students to do activities outside without worrying about going home at night or early in the morning (residential function). Second, this project aims to improve the quality of Indonesian university student graduates through the provision of coworking space functions. The last objective is to support the provision of user needs while they are in the activity space (commercial function).
In order to answer the background of project issues and design issues that have been formulated, the Students' Co-(Working & Living) Hub project carries the theme of live-work-engage as a basis which is then elaborated into three design concepts. First, the concept of a sanctuary. The concept of a dwelling as a sanctuary is interpreted as a space where individuals can seek solace, find inner peace, and temporarily disconnect from the outside world. It is hoped that these residential facilities can make residents feel safe and comfortable at home. Second, the concept of productivity. This concept is carried out with the hope that users can carry out various kinds of productive activities comfortably in order to develop their potential and complete their work. It is hoped that users will no longer need to look for other public informal spaces, each of which is lacking. Third, the concept of magnetism. The concept of magnetism where the project has more attractiveness than other commercial facilities around the site so that it attracts more visitors both for interaction and buying and selling activities within the project. This is also expected to add to the economic value of the project.
The idea of the design concept is embodied in the project design which consists of one large building mass which is a combination of two building masses that are connected by a connecting building mass that becomes a unifier. Students' Co-(Working & Living) Hub has 1 basement floor and 7 floors above with a total building area of 14,969 m2. The project uses a concrete base structure with a post & lintel system equipped with a core structure reinforcement. In the receiving area and coworking-commercial area, the project uses a steel structure as a structural design for the transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
