Bandung Orchestra Music Community Center is a place for musicians, especially orchestra musicians in the city of Bandung. Bandung has quite large orchestral music community, but Bandung doesn’t yet have a place or adequate place for orchestral musicians to gather, learn from each other, and express their works through orchestral music concerts. The purpose of this community center is to provide a decent space for orchestral musicians to express their works well and also provide a collaborative space for the community so that communities can connect with each other and orchestral music in Indonesia, especially in the city of Bandung, can further develop in the future, besides that, this project also aims to provide educational and recreative space for the community so that orchestral music is no longer considered as a rigid music and can only be enjoyed by people from certain circles. This community center is planned to be built on an area of 18,000 m2 located in the city of Bandung with 4 main room functions, orchestral music performance space in the form of a concert hall, collaborative space, educational and recreative space, and public space. The design issues in this project are divided into 3 things, environmental acoustics, collaborative collaboration and production spaces, and productive educational and recreational spaces. The main concept of this community center is to combine performance space in the form of a concert hall and community space in one area, community space is realized in the form of a 'third place'. Third place is a place where a person can spend their time outside the home/residence (first place) and office/school (second place), and this third place also serves to unite a community.
