Rajamandala Limestones are excellent for understanding carbonate fractured reservoir since it well outcropped in Gunung Guha mining area. The objectives of this study are to characterize the relationship of limestone facies to distribution of fractures. DFN (Discrete Fracture Network) conducted using parameter from fracture analysis. Thousands fractures were collected from four scanline locations in Gunung Guha. Several fracture type including Stilolit (1210 fractures), shear fractures (26 fractures) and extension fractures (367 fractures) were observed. These four locations are in domal platycoral bindstone facies and platycoral bindstone facies. The result indicates that Stilolit is most common fracture in Gunung Guha. Using power law distribution, the fractal number of the fractures spacing are between - 0.5 up to -2.0. Fracture intensity is varying up to 35 fractures per meter. Stilolits occur in two different orientation, parallel bedding and perpendicular to bedding plane. Extension fractures which perpendicular to bedding plane also occur in Gunung Guha as well as the parallel to bedding plane. Fracture analysis indicates that platycoral bindstone facies tend to have more fractures than domal platycoral bindstone facies. Fracture character from fracture analysis used as input for DFN fracture modeling. The factor controlling fractures distributions are proximity to fault, facies and strain due to deformation. Porosity fracture from DFN modeling has mean value at 2.7%. text |

Naturally fractured reservoir is one of proven as productive reservoir in numerous
oilfields. Limestone is one of the lithology as a naturally fractured reservoir.
However, there are still many problems that have not been well understood.
Rajamandala Limestones are excellent for understanding carbonate fractured
reservoir since it well outcropped in Gunung Guha mining area. The objectives of
this study are to characterize the relationship of limestone facies to distribution of
fractures. DFN (Discrete Fracture Network) conducted using parameter from
fracture analysis.
Thousands fractures were collected from four scanline locations in Gunung Guha.
Several fracture type including Stilolit (1210 fractures), shear fractures (26
fractures) and extension fractures (367 fractures) were observed. These four
locations are in domal platycoral bindstone facies and platycoral bindstone facies.
The result indicates that Stilolit is most common fracture in Gunung Guha. Using
power law distribution, the fractal number of the fractures spacing are between -
0.5 up to -2.0. Fracture intensity is varying up to 35 fractures per meter. Stilolits
occur in two different orientation, parallel bedding and perpendicular to bedding
plane. Extension fractures which perpendicular to bedding plane also occur in
Gunung Guha as well as the parallel to bedding plane. Fracture analysis indicates
that platycoral bindstone facies tend to have more fractures than domal platycoral
bindstone facies. Fracture character from fracture analysis used as input for DFN
fracture modeling. The factor controlling fractures distributions are proximity to
fault, facies and strain due to deformation. Porosity fracture from DFN modeling
has mean value at 2.7%.
