Description
Summary:Rapid population growth results in an increase in the need for infrastructure and built-up land, and contributes significantly to the conversion of green land. Bogor City is one of the suburbs of DKI Jakarta which is the choice of place to live for commuters because of its convenience, including the influence of the presence of green open space (GOS) which is a primary urban need. However, its existence is dwindling. Urban anthropological conditions have triggered an increase in surface temperature, particularly the use of motorized vehicles, road construction, and the use of air conditioning, which simultaneously increases carbon levels in cities. The existence of green open space is important to reduce urban temperatures due to uncontrolled anthropological activities. This study aims to identify the spatial distribution and influence of the presence of green open space on the surface urban heat island (SUHI) phenomenon in Bogor City. Secondary data collection was obtained from data acquisition using the Google Earth Engine and secondary data surveys to government agencies. This study uses LISA spatial autocorrelation analysis to determine the pattern of distribution of green open space in Bogor City, spatial analysis using the Google Earth Engine and thresholds to determine the existence of the SUHI phenomenon, R Pearson analysis to determine the relationship between green open space and SUHI, and OLS and GWR analysis to determine the influencing factors of SUHI in Bogor City. The results of this study indicate that the distribution of green open space in Bogor City is fairly evenly distributed with a Moran Index of 0.118. As many as 24 out of 68 villages (35,29%) experienced the SUHI phenomenon with a threshold temperature of 33.28°C. The relationship between RTH and SUHI shows inversely proportional results. Based on the results of the selected GWR analysis, the factors that significantly influence SUHI in Bogor City are the area per sub-district, street area, and population with an R2 of 27.61% and an AICc of 157.45. Therefore, the Bogor City government needs to pay attention to the existence of green open space on the streets by adding green lanes, controlling the reduction of green open space due to an increase in population, while the residents also should participate in protecting the environment such as using public transportation, starting urban farming, so that the level of greenery in Bogor City is maintained.
