The quality of every end product to be produced depends on the quality of every bit of spare parts contained in it. Hence, local suppliers played a critical role in ensuring the product quality is exactly fulfilled. This research is limited only to CV XYZ which is known as a motorcycle spare part third-party supplier that is based in Cimahi, Indonesia. Recently, they faced decreasing customer trust because they obtained a “D” score in Performance Quality written in the Performance Supplier Report Period of January 2023 that is sent by one of their customers. This research aims to analyze the current quality gap and determine feasible solutions for CV XYZ so that they can leverage their spare part quality. The steps that should be taken are necessary to be in line with defining goals and keep the production process remains stable and open for further improvement. The Six Sigma Methodology DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) is the basis of this problem-solving research. Furthermore, the author implements operations management analysis tools to locate underlying problems related to defects occurring in the production process. The author also utilizes historical data and undertakes the recommendation given by the previous research indicated in literature reviews. The analyzed data has proven the process needs to be repaired and in line with the minimum scores written in the Performance Supplier Report January 2023. Adherent to this, three root causes were identified, which are (1) the shaper tools were overused, (2) operators’ hasty working behavior, and (3) have not established a renewed system to monitor operators’ own work. Currently, these root causes were improperly handled so it will not generate a significant quality improvement. Three proposed solutions require the enhancement in renewable machine systems and human resources management, which are (1) the shaper reconditioning & scheduling, (2) enhancement of job rotation procedure, and (3) the Poka-Yoke: Cleaning Numerator. text
