INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/73131 The phenomenon of a quarter-life crisis among Gen-Z individuals in the era of globalization, particularly those who are neurodivergent, has created social boundaries (gaps) that are further supported by the "strawberry generation" phenomenon. Neurodivergent individuals often experience low self-esteem. Additionally, the increasing cases of discrimination and the neurodivergent population in Jakarta indicate the presence of vulnerability symptoms among the golden generation of Indonesia. This necessitates the establishment of a safe space, referred to as "a chamber," where neurodivergent individuals can thrive and neurodiversity can be embraced. This "chamber" is named Lembah Qualia (Quale Valley) and is based on three main concepts: an experiential-based environmental design to establish a deeper connection between users and the space, an inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse needs, and a personalized design for users with unique archetypes. These three fundamental design concepts serve as a response to the need for sensory, adaptive, and specialized design considerations. Lembah Qualia combines the typologies of a healthcare center and a community center, while also providing non-conventional educational facilities for neurodivergent individuals and fostering two-way learning for neurodiversity. The facility occupies a floor area of 14,750 square meters on a 13,602 square meter green land, with 45% dedicated to green spaces that serve as healing gardens for therapy purposes. The building consists of a single L-shaped mass, divided into three floors for the community zone and two split levels for the healthcare zone. The main structural system of the building incorporates two expansion joints, with steel as the primary material for the structural components and danpalon for the façade. text
