This is because the average life expectancy of Indonesian had increased too. One of the impacts of this situation is there will be more people who have dementia, especially Alzheimer. The Indonesian government describes the elderly as a person that is already more than 65 years old. The population of elderly and Alzheimer patients is always parallel; if one increases, another will too. This fact was also cited by WHO which is said that number of Dementia patients will increase in one place if the elderly population of that place is increased too. Dementia is an illness in which the patient with this condition will have degenerative cognition and attend to forget about something. One of the types of dementia that often happen is called Alzheimer Disease. Alzheimer is a condition that happened when someone has amyloid and tau protein in their brain. In Indonesia, cases of Alzheimer be predicted will increase in the main time. In 2016, there was 1.3 million people who had Alzheimer in Indonesia, in 2030 there will be 2 million people, and in 2050 there will be 4 million people who have Alzheimer. Because of this situation, there will be more facilities for Alzheimer patients that are needed in Indonesia, one of those facilities is daycare for Alzheimer. Daycare for Alzheimer patients is a community-based project and will have Alzheimer’s Indonesia and non-profit organizations called Indonesia Ramah Lansia as their partners. The focus of this project is to create a place and activity that will help people with Alzheimer to have a well-being life. This project will do on a 7.652,986 m2 area of land located in Ir. H. Juanda Street no.498A, Coblong District, Bandung City, Jawa Barat. Coblong District is the second District in Bandung which has a large amount population of elderly. There are three main issues for creating a great man-made environment for Alzheimer patients in this facility. The first issue is how to make an environment that can be used for the executive community (Alzheimer patients) but can be used for general users too. The second issue is how to create an environment that can lower the stress level, increase creativity, and make Alzheimer patients can feel the positive impact of the therapy process faster than usual. There will be three design concepts that will be used in the daycare design process. The first concept is Alzheimer Design Guidelines, this concept will be an answer to the first issues of the design process. The second concept is Biophilic Design which will be the solution for the second issue. And the last concept is Haptic Architecture which will be the third issue solution. There will be five main buildings in this project: support building, residence 1, residence 2, residence 3, and therapy building. There will be a main courtyard between those five buildings. In the main courtyard, people can do gardening. Besides the main courtyard, there will be a reflecting pond area too. The main material for this project is wood that will be used in the floor, ceiling, and some of the partitions of the wall. The structure for this facility is concrete and steel for the roof (plan truss). text
