TAMBUN CULTURAL AND CREATIVE CENTER AS A PLACE FOR RECREATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE BEKASI DISTRICT ART COMMUNITY

Art and culture are starting to become less appealing to the local community and are gradually becoming extinct in West Java, giving rise to an urgency to procure development facilities for the arts community. This project is a Cultural and Creative Center project, which is a facility that accommodates the development of creativity for art communities in Bekasi Regency. This project has various facilities that are categorized into 4 main functions, namely the collaboration function, the appreciation function, the recreational function, and the educational function. The collaboration function is filled with community studio space, coworking space, meeting room, and workshop space as a space for the community and society to interact and collaborate in creation, the appreciation function is filled with auditorium, art gallery, and amphitheater facilities as a means for the general public to appreciate art and a product of creativity from the local community, the recreational function is filled with an open green park, food court, and market space as a place of relaxation and recreation for the general public of Bekasi Regency, as well as an educational function in the form of a mini library as a learning space for the general public about local arts. The project, which occupies 11,500m2 of land, is located in South Tambun sub-district, Bekasi Regency, with a large and varied number of art communities in Bekasi Regency. This project has a design issue centered on the development of an art community in Bekasi Regency, namely providing spaces that support interaction and collaboration, spaces for appreciation and education, with a focus on providing an auditorium with good acoustic quality, as well as providing recreational space in the form of an open green public park. The spatial configuration in this project is based on the vertical division of private-public zones, the placement of spatial functions and horizontal noise levels by each activity. This project consists of two adjacent building masses that are connected by a bridge which is divided based on the function of space, so that users can comfortably navigate and do activities in it. There is a wide-spanning void in each mass which is supported by a building structure in the form of conventional beam columns and a wide-span steel roof structure.
