INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/73172 In 2022, the food crisis will become a big issue in various countries around the world. This food crisis is characterized by an increase in the malnutrition index, food scarcity, and economic instability. In the city, the food crisis is caused by the phenomenon of urbanization, which results in an imbalance between food needs and food supply. Urbanization encourages the conversion of agricultural land so that cities are no longer able to meet the food needs of the population and have a high dependency on food supplies from outside. In Bandung city, around 96.47 percent of the community's food supply is obtained from outside due to the decreasing agricultural land. The high food dependency has resulted in the low resistance of the city of Bandung to the food crisis. This high food dependency can be overcome with the concept of "Cities Feeding People". Cities feeding people is the concept of utilizing urban farming as a method of providing food for urban communities in a sustainable manner. This concept is achieved by establishing a local food production system through community participation and government support. To support the concept of Cities Feeding People, the Agricultural Hub is needed as an urban agricultural incubation facility that fosters and supports urban agricultural systems through accelerating local food systems and educating farmers and urban communities regarding various urban farming methods. This facility aims to encourage community participation in establishing a local food production system. This facility is designed using an ecological architectural approach, a placemaking concept, and a biophilic design concept to form an agriculture space that meets users’ performance requirements. The development of this facility is expected to be a solution for providing food for the community, creating urban green open spaces, being a source of employment for the people of the city of Bandung, as well as realizing food security. text
