According to the IQAir 2021 Air Quality Report, Bandung City ranks 13th as the most polluted city in Southeast Asia and 2nd as the city with the largest air pollution impact on health in Indonesia. One of the most polluted areas affected by air pollution is the terminal. The Cicaheum Terminal area, with a land area of 10,530m2, was chosen as the project location due to its poor air quality resulting from the passage of various vehicles entering and leaving Bandung City, as well as its proximity to densely populated areas and commercial spaces with minimal green and public spaces. This project aims to create a transportation infrastructure that serves as a respiratory point for the city, not only functioning as a transit area but also as a destination for the community. The project applies the concept of Interweaving, which integrates the functions of architecture, purification systems, and landscape as an interior. The Interweaving concept is implemented to establish zoning and building arrangements, creating an environmentally friendly structure that optimizes natural lighting and ventilation, and also provides restorative effects for its users. Cicaheum Intermodal Transportation Hub combines the typology of a terminal with commercial centers and public spaces that can be utilized by the community within a single building mass. The building features purification technology on the roof. Building envelope incorporates a combination of wood elements, perforated metal, and green walls, which serve as the building's identity. All vegetation elements within the building consist of plant species that can efficiently absorb pollutants. The building structure utilizes a waffle slab system with concrete columns. text |
