INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/73186 Bandung is a paradise of fashion industry, ranking second only to the food industry. However, the rapid development of the fashion industry in Bandung is directly proportional to the high level of environmental pollution. Therefore, the fashion industry in Bandung needs to level up their game by shifting to more innovative and sustainable products, known as eco-fashion. Many entrepreneurs have already started this industry in Indonesia, especially in Bandung. Hence, a platform is needed to develop the eco-fashion industry, namely through the Fashion Hub. The Fashion Hub, located in Pasar Induk, has a floor area of 17,669 m2 and is built on a land area of 10,254 m2. This facility will replace Pasar Cimol Gedebage, which is a center for unsold imported second-hand clothes that can be reused. The Fashion Hub envisions itself as a pioneer facility for eco fashion in Indonesia, with a focus on developing eco-fashion products and reducing the import of used clothing. In creating a sustainable fashion hub, there are three main issues that need to be considered: productivity, creativity, and increasing exposure to the eco-fashion industry. These issues are addressed with the concept of Oasis, as a supporting ecosystem for eco-fashion. Oasis refers to a green ecosystem in the middle of a desert, representing this project as well as providing a solution to the challenges of establishing a sustainable fashion hub. The refreshing concept of Oasis contradicts the surrounding conditions, which are part of the response to the context of the Gedebage area, metaphorically resembling an uncomfortable desert. text
