DESIGN OF A MODULAR ELECTRIC CART BASED ON BATTERY SYSTEMS AS A MEANS OF TRADE FOR STREET VENDORS (CASE STUDY OF GANESA STREET VENDORS, BANDUNG CITY)

Street Vendors, commonly referred to as PKL in Indonesia, are a group of traders selling goods at the roadside or sidewalk, with their trading location choices primarily being driven by economic factors. Broadly, these vendors base their trading activities on informal social infrastructure, available physical infrastructure, and the trading facilities they possess. As an integral part of urban life, PKL and their activities generate employment and economic income for the surrounding community, while also providing various foods and beverages that meet the needs and desires of society. However, the existence of PKL is often enveloped in various problems seen from the perspectives of the government, traders, and the general public. PKL's difficulties in terms of mobility, access to basic needs such as electricity and water, and economic pressures result in misuse of public facilities, degradation of environmental quality, and tension between PKL and stakeholders in urban planning. The indispensable role of PKL in urban life means that the problems surrounding PKL are issues that should be resolved. Therefore, it's crucial to develop a holistic design considering all aspects related to PKL to develop a cart as a PKL trading facility. This research emphasizes the implementation of modular systems and electrical energy on PKL carts, and the application of this energy in trading facility systems such as lighting, food production, and mobility. This research will generally be conducted through literature and ethnographic studies and will produce a prototype PKL cart that can support trading activities based on an energy sharing system. text
