It has a positive impact in terms of economic development, but on the other hand, it can be a threat to the existence of traditional culture. Globalization, modernization, and foreign influences that come through tourism activities can lead to commodification and changes in cultural values. This negative phenomenon has occurred in Sasak's traditional culture in Sade Village. Based on those issues, this project was developed to accommodate tourism and cultural preservation activities. This project located in an area of 9,500 m² in the KEK Mandalika area. The typology of this project is a cultural center designed based on three main concepts: regionalism architecture, educative and creative space, and collaborative space. These 3 concepts were chosen to create spaces that reflect Sasak cultural values, educational spaces to support cultural preservation, and recreational spaces for tourism purposes. Sasak Cultural Center accommodates three main functions: cultural education through exhibition galleries, participatory functions through traditional workshop classes, and collaboration and event space through an auditorium and amphitheater. The exhibition galleries are designed by combining indoor and outdoor spaces to create a creative cultural education process. Workshop classes are more practical and based on workflow and user behaviors. Meanwhile, the auditorium and amphitheater are designed as sociopetal spaces that encourage interaction and collaboration between users. The mass of each building is adopted from Sasak's traditional architectural form, style, and materialities. Modern materials such as steel are also incorporated to create wide-span spaces. text
