Description
Summary:The trend of using video conference applications for distance learning during the pandemic and new normal shows improvement. This distance learning has challenges and problems in the form of attracting learner engagement. Knowing how much learner engagement is important in learning process and for teachers. To find out the engagement of students in distance learning, a detector is needed that can reach students who are not visible to the teacher. In addition to the detectors, engagement interventions in distance learning are needed to keep learner engagement levels high. Previous studies on the detection of engagement with computer vision based on facial emotion expressions have not implemented interventions in their research. This research accommodates engagement interventions in distance learning based on the level of engagement that has been detected by engagement detection services. Distance learning using this service prototype shows that the level of student engagement is maintained.
