APPLICATION OF AROMA ENCAPSULATION ON TEXTILE WITH CANANGA ODORATA SCENT AND PATTERN

The application of aroma encapsulation in textiles has become an interesting research area to present a unique sensory experience and increase the added value of textile products. In the context of the Flower Power era theme, where the spirit of nature and the beauty of flowers are the centers of attention, this research developed an application that combines aroma encapsulation with Cananga Odorata floral motifs on textiles. This study aims to study the aroma encapsulation technique and its implementation in textiles using the distinctive aroma of the Cananga Odorata flower. The initial step of the research will involve selecting suitable encapsulation materials to maintain the aroma of Cananga Odorata flowers and produce stable capsules. Next, the researcher applied the textile aroma encapsulation technique with the appropriate method. After producing scented textiles, the Cananga Odorata floral motif was designed with the inspiration for the Flower Power era style. The motifs are designed to emphasize the aesthetic concepts of the era and complement the scent experience produced by the textiles. Appropriate textile printing techniques are used to produce motifs with good quality and durability. Furthermore, a series of quality tests were carried out on textiles with Cananga Odorata scented and floral motifs. The tests included testing the stability of the aroma of Cananga Odorata flowers, their resistance to the surrounding environment, and washing tests. The test results are expected to show that the aroma of Cananga Odorata flowers can be encapsulated well in textiles and the aroma remains stable. In addition, it is hoped that textiles can provide sensory experiences and maintain the beauty of the Cananga Odorata floral motifs for a long time. Thus, it is hoped that the application of aroma to Cananga Odorata scented and floral-patterned textiles with the theme of the flower power era can create a textile product that provides a unique sensory experience and combines aesthetic value with functional value. It is hoped that this research can be the beginning of scented textiles in the textile, fashion, and home decoration industries to create products that can captivate consumers' hearts in pampering the senses and generate the spirit of Flower Power Era that is classic but still fresh.
