Description
Summary:As an agricultural country, the agricultural sector has become one of the popular sector among tourist in Indonesia as well as paying a major role in supporting the economic and social culture. The Covid-19 situation in 2020 caused a shift in public interest toward nature based tourism. The concept of tourism based on agriculture or agrotourism has become the agenda of sustainable development. Development in agrotourism that pays attention to the three dimensions of sustainability namely economic, social and environmental is able to play a positive role in supporting and maintaining the sustainability of the agricultural businesses of the surrounding community. As the North Bandung Area (KBU), Lembang was designated by the West Java government as a protected forest and farming area. The potential of this area has been eyed by many private parties to develop various tourism sectors. The development of the tourism sector has caused various environmental damages. In terms of socio-economic issues, many people have lost their job, especially local farmers. To respond to this issue, the development of the tourism sector should be in accordance with the sustainable development agenda which pays attention to the surrounding environment and involves community participation from planning to development. Organic Farm Homestay Design with a Sustainable Design Approach is a tourism support facility in the form of homestay accommodation facilities designed with a sustainable design dimension approach, namely environment, social & economy. Design accommodation facilities that are environmentally friendly and elevate the characteristics of the surrounding community into the interior of the Homestay building. The research method used in this study was a qualitative method consisting of field observations, interviews, and literature studies. The sustainable approach to this design focuses on the concept of interior space design as an adaptation to surrounding conditions which is expected to have an impact on improving tourism areas and the quality of life of visitors and the community's economy.
