The habit of drinking tea called moci contains philosophical meaning in its presentation. In addition, the distinctive shape of pottery teapots and characters are seen as a visual wealth of human thoughts that need to be maintained in order to remain part of Indonesian culture. However, the habit of drinking pot tea has rarely been done because it has begun to erode the flow of modernization. Therefore, there is a need for innovation in an effort to reintroduce Tegal teapot as a tea drinking tradition in Indonesia. With this need, interior products that have aesthetic and functional value will be developed, by adapting the distinctive shape of the Tegal pot and using techniques and materials for making it. Earthenware throwing techniques and clay materials, are pot-forming aspects that will also be applied in making products, in order to maintain the character of Tegal pots. The development of interior products in the form of ceramic lamps is intended as an aesthetic element that can add to the atmosphere during tea drinking activities. The research was conducted with a form exploration approach as well as a study of engobe terra sigillata applied to the manufacture of Tegal pots. From the data obtained, it was found that the exploration of the shape of the Tegal pot has the potential to be developed into an aesthetically pleasing ceramic lamp. The acquisition of engobe terra sigillata study data also showed mixed results that can be utilized for visual purposes. It is hoped that with this research, there will be awareness and increased public recognition of Tegal teapot. text
