Description
Summary:Chemotherapy treatment in children is a process of curing cancer in children which is carried out for a long time and can have side effects on children. Chemotherapy and its side effects can cause children with cancer to experience repeated hospitalization. Hospitalization is a crisis in children while undergoing treatment at the hospital and occurs when children try to adapt to a foreign environment, namely the hospital, so this condition becomes a stressor factor for children. Therefore, efforts are needed to motivate them to develop effective coping strategies for children to deal with hospitalization. Research is focused on designing a product that can help the coping process in children when undergoing chemotherapy. The research approach uses qualitative methods by observation, interviews, and literature review aimed at pediatric patients in hospitals aged 4-6 years by analyzing the problems and needs of users during their chemotherapy course. This research is expected to produce a product that can be used by children to provide support to reduce the side effects that are felt when undergoing chemotherapy.
