Summary:Comets are the one of celestial objects which are remnants from the formation of Solar System around 4,6 billion years ago with the characteristic feature of having tails that may extend up to millions of kilometers long. Comets have four main parts, namely nucleus, coma, hydrogen cloud, and tail that consisting of an ion tail and a dust tail. One of the goals of studying comets is to study their chemical composition, one of which is HCN molecule that has been already detected in several comets. For this reason, the author conducted a study on the coma of two comets, namely comets C/2012 F6 (Lemmon) and C/2012 S1 (ISON), both of which were observed by ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array) radio telescope. The author’s study resulted in the spatial distribution of HCN molecule that present in the coma of two comets. It is found that spatial distribution of HCN molecule for comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) is more centered than for comet C/2012 F6 (Lemmon). It is very likely that it was due to heliocentric distance of comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) which was closer compared to comet C/2012 F6 (Lemmon) at the time of observations. Consequently, the activity in comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) was higher than that of comet C/2012 F6 (Lemmon). This is then compared with the result from the literature.
