Those, the relationship between the fracture and fault with tectonic control in a region need to be a highly considered. Fractures and faults pattern in Awibengkok and surround it, has an order orientation or tendency, not radial pattern around the center of the volcanoes as the center of volcanic activity. Also, the pressure which influences the reservoir permeability at the Awibengkok field have a northeast-southwest tendency following the structures in this area. This makes the assumption that the structures contained in Awibengkok and the surrounding area is dominantly affected by tectonic factors, not only by volcanism factor. The aim of this study is to determine the mechanism of structure such as fracture and fault in the study area. In addition, this study also purposed to identify the types of deformation and tectonic evolution in relation to tectonic of Java. The data used in this study are satellite images, well data and regional geological study from literature, also structures geological data from field work. Assumed that lineament patterns in the study area can be represents a geologic structure and position of rock stratigraphy in the study area. From remote sensing, field geology and seismicity data analysis, shows that in the study area occured two major faults, Cimandiri fault in the southern and northern Cibeet Fault. From some stage of analysis, concluded that the movement of two major faults shows sinistral and thrust movement components. Simple shear mechanism can explain the geometry and dynamic relationship between strike-slip faults with associated structures. In Awibengkok areas, developed structures dominated by normal faults and extensional fractures with NE-SW trending. It is appropriate with the simple shear mechanism model, which states that the orientation of the normal fault and extensional fractures in the area that lies between two strike-slip faults, parallel with the force that formed by movement of both faults. text |
