Summary: | The Harihara stone statue is the embodiment of Raden Wijaya or Kertajasa
Jayawardhana, which was made to honor him as the first king of the Majapahit
Kingdom. The statue was made by taking the Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva figures;
the god Raden Wijaya worshiped during his lifetime. During the era of the
Majapahit kingdom, many jewelries remain were found. In that era, jewelry had its
own role, namely as a marker of social status and averting misfortunes or a
protective amulet. Today, jewelry in general has shifted its main function to
decorating oneself or as a medium for self-expression. Utilizing the visual of the
Harihara Simping Statue as the main inspiration for making jewelry products is
done by stylizing the shape and making it a motif. Sculptures made of stone are
adapted to ceramic materials with metal as supporting materials, and
incorporating a few-years-ahead color trend-forecast as supports i making works.
Using a combination of colored clay staining techniques while shaping with
slabbing and press printing, the results are neatly made. Making motif prints with
toyobo is the most effective technique |
