The Permanent Housing Resettlement Area was built close to the Semeru Volcano area, specifically in the eastern region of Semeru Volcano with less than 10 kilometers from the summit of the mountain. The eastern region within 35 kilometers of the summit of Semeru Volcano is considered hazardous as it could be affected by lahar avalanches from the steep peak. To build a resettlement area, the main thing that needs to be considered is the safety of the resettlement area. This research aims to analyze the safety of the Permanent Housing Resettlement Area from potential lahar flow hazards by referring to similar rules and events and reviewing the topography around the resettlement area. The method used is spatial analysis, that is, buffer and overlay so that the potential of lahar flow hazard in the resettlement area can be identified. The results show that the Permanent Housing Resettlement Relocation Area is outside the potential hazard zone about 500 meters from the low hazard potential zone. Based on the topography, the closest lahar flow to the resettlement area, Besuk Sat, has a profile shape like an embankment on the edge of the flow so that it can withstand the lahar flow from overflowing towards the resettlement area. text
