Description
Summary:<p align="justify">The relocation of the Indonesian National Capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan has become increasingly evident since the promulgation of Law No. 3 of 2022 abaout Law on State Capital. The relocation of the National Capital was based on several reasons, namely the need to develop new economic areas, reduce inter-regional disparities, and improve people's welfare. The new National Capital is located in East Kalimantan which is referred to as the Capital of the Archipelago (IKN). IKN has a vision and mission, namely Smart Sustainable Forest City where the process of preparation, planning and development of IKN seeks to maintain the condition of Kalimantan's forests as the lungs of the world and keep up with the times by applying the concepts of smart city, sponge city and forest city. However, all of these processes require geospatial aspects that are accurate, precise and in accordance with standards set out in laws and regulations. The importance of the geospatial aspect in the process of preparation, planning and development of the National Science Institute is the basis for the need to conduct research related to the status and characteristics of the geospatial aspects of the laws and regulations in Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach to study regulations and geospatial aspects in IKN. The geospatial aspects in this study are focused on coordinate reference systems, coordinate systems, maps, and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). The study was carried out by analyzing standards related to geospatial aspects that were reviewed and then compared to the status and characteristics of laws and regulations related to the IKN. According to the results of a review of policies related to IKN, it has not included provisions and the use of geospatial aspects. Therefore, it needs to policies, the coordinate reference system used in Indonesia is the 2013 Geospatial Reference System, the coordinate system for maps in Indonesia is the Universal Transverse Mercator with IKN at UTM Zone 50S, maps for IKN require base maps and various themes of large-scale thematic maps to scale small maps which contains toponymy information, administrative area boundaries, waters, facilities and infrastructure, land cover and land use, and updating and integrating Geospatial Data and Geospatial Information on existing GIS on a national, provincial, district/city to village scale to support the development process IKN and supports the vision of IKN and the One Map Policy (KSP).
