INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/73406 Keraton Yogyakarta is one of the institutions that preserves the tradition of wearing traditional attire in their daily lives. It is not only the royal descendants who wear the traditional clothing of Yogyakarta, but also the palace attendants and guards. The Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate has military regalia called "bregada" as an effort to maintain and safeguard the sovereignty of the region and its people. The traditional attire worn by warriors has various identifying structures, and the selection of materials, forms, weapons, and attributes reflects cultural values. One way to introduce children to new things is through play. As an effort to introduce the attire of Keraton Yogyakarta guards, a fabric doll design will be created to familiarize children with traditional clothing. Through fabric dolls, children can learn about the culture surrounding the attire of Keraton Yogyakarta guards. Fabric dolls have the advantage of conveying detailed information about the guard's costume. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, including data collection through observation, interviews, and gathering information about the details of Keraton Yogyakarta guards. This is followed by the design process of visual elements and exploration on fabric. The final result is expected to capture the distinctive features of Keraton Yogyakarta guards as a way to introduce traditional clothing to children. text
