Description
Summary:This study aims to optimize hole cleaning and cuttings transportation in oil well drilling. The main focus is on correcting the Mud Flow Rate (MFR) and Rate of Penetration (ROP) values based on hole cleaning and washout conditions within the wellbore. Effective hole cleaning is crucial for drilling efficiency and quality. Corrections are made by considering rheology, angle, and mud weight factors. Equations and graphs are developed to correct the MFR and ROP values to achieve optimal hole cleaning. The research shows that correcting the MFR and ROP values improves drilling efficiency and cuttings transportation. The findings contribute to the understanding and optimization of hole cleaning, cutting transport, and the correction of MFR and ROP in well drilling. These findings are beneficial for the oil and gas industry in enhancing drilling operation efficiency and mitigating technical issues related to hole cleaning and cuttings transportation.
