Superhero uses their powers to do good things and fight against evil that roams on earth. Not long after the superhero comic books are released, the fictional characters are then adapted to films. Up until in recent years, superhero genre on films has become one of the genre that is cheered upon by many, proved by the highest grossing film of all time which is a superhero movie from Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame. With the increasing of superhero genre worldwide, Indonesia is also trying to revive the industry by bringing classic Indonesian character that was made by one of Indonesian artist, which is Gundala, made by Harya Suraminata on 1969. With the increasing popularity of superhero genre films, whether in society or filming industry, this could lead to increased demands for costume making producer in Indonesia. In the year 2019, there is a Gundala costume made for Gundala live action film from the vision of director Joko Anwar, which the costume was made from overseas. The outcome of this research is to produce a Gundala costume that is adapted from the original 1969 comic with modern and new approach by applicating decorative style from Lawang Bledheg that we deformed into neo-tribal decorative and adjusted to follow the ethereal and modern concept of Negeri Petir. This research also produce a bunch of concept and worldbuilding that was achieved by literature study and consultation with of the most well-known Indonesian comic enthusiast. The techniques that will be used for applicating the Lawang Bledheg decorative is sublimation printing technique and raised screen printing texture technique that will be the first time ever used in Indonesia. text
