Metabolic syndrome will increase the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. There is no single specific drug to treat metabolic syndrome as a whole. Metabolic syndrome is a health threat so that complementary therapy is needed to treat various dysfunctions due to its degenerative nature. Cassava leaf bioflavonoids (Manihot esculenta Crantz) or what can be called CBDs (Cassava bioflavonoids, rutin 82% and nicotiflorin 17%) are known to have antidiabetic, antioxidant, antiinflammatory and other activities. To determine the effect of bioflavonoids in overcoming metabolic syndrome, a research design was carried out with the study sample divided into 5 treatment groups. Data analysis was carried out by testing One-Way ANOVA confidence level of 0,1 (90%). The implementation stage is male mice strains Swiss Webster induced by a high-fat diet and streptozotocin (STZ) then given therapy. The results of the study after the therapy was given were the bioflavonoid fraction of cassava leaves CBDs 400 mg/kgBW may lower fasting blood sugar levels; total cholesterol; LDL; triglycerides and uric acid significantly respectively 21,46%; 0,62%; 15,07%; 33,06%; and 57,07%. The CBDs bioflavonoid fraction of cassava leaves 400 mg/kgBW can also significantly increase HDL levels by 54,76%. From the research results, CBDs 400 mg/kgBB is the most optimum test material compared to CBDs 200 mg/kgBB in improved several parameter profiles for treating metabolic syndrome in animal models induced by a high-fat diet and streptozotocin. text
