Description
Summary:This research aims to enhance the identity and competitiveness of woven crafts from Nuha Village in East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi. Woven crafts, locally known as Teduhu, are handicrafts made from the inner part of the resam stem, a type of large nail that grows on roadside cliffs and mountain gardens. Currently, these woven crafts are becoming increasingly rare and nearing extinction. The majority of the economic resources in this area come from nickel mining, but it is estimated that the reserves will be depleted by 2045. In an effort to prepare for a postmining economy, the local government has begun developing the tourism sector by reviving local culture, including the art of woven crafts. This research utilizes a product design approach to determine creative products from Nuha Village that utilize woven crafts. The data obtained will involve a literature review, direct observation, and interviews. Therefore, it is expected that this research can provide relevant recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of woven crafts from Nuha Village and promote the cultural identity of the village.
