Summary:The bond of affection and a mother’s love in taking care for her child is embodied in a dance originated from Surakarta, namely the bondan kendhi dance. Meaning and philosophies in the dance are very important for children to appreciate their mother’s sacrifices. This concept are developed into pairs of clothing inspiration for a mother and a daughter, which represents and describes the relationship between the two. A mother’s love for her children is developed into a pattern that represents the bondan kendhi dance itself, from the dance movements to its dance properties. The clothing designs were made through visual exploration and the application of beading and embroidery. Each of designs were made with harmony and intended to be a formal clothing for special occasions like birthday party, garden party, etc. These matching clothing is a form of expression of the bonding relationship between the two connected soul and also can be used in precious moments together.
