Butterflies are one of the faunas that contribute to providing ecosystem services in the Biodiversity Park. This study aims to examine the diversity of butterfly species in the Bandung Biodiversity Park (Taman Kehati Bandung = TKB), West Java. Observation of the presence of the butterflies was carried out in 6 different zones using the standard walk method (recording the presence of butterflies at a distance of 5 meters from the front, left, right, and above the researcher) in the period of (08.00 - 10.00) hours, (10.00 - 12.30) hours, and (13.00 - 15.00) hours West Indonesian Time. In addition, microclimatic conditions were measured in each zone (temperature, relative humidity, and light intensity using a data logger) as well as observations of the host and food plant. Field observations were made 18 times during the period from September 8 to October 22, 2022. The results showed a total of 2.340 butterflies encounters which belong to 56 species from 4 families including 36 species (Nymphalidae), 11 species (Pieridae), 7 species (Papilionidae), and 2 species (Lycaenidae). There are 24 species of butterflies distributed throughout the study sites. Eurema blanda is the butterfly species with the most encounters. Based on the results of microclimate measurements, the average temperature range (was 27.43 to 39.39) ?, relative humidity was (47.14 to 74.30) %, and light intensity was (2662.73 to 27735.08) lux. The butterflies’ diversity at TKB was high shown by the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H') ranging from 2.725 to 3.129, and the evenness index (E) ranging from 0.749 - 0.852. A total of 52 species of hosts and food plants were found in study sites. text |
