This application is needed to address various issues in hiking activities, such as poor signal quality for communication, difficulty in tracking the location of mountain climbers by mountain climbing managers, and the lack of real-time information about climbers. Hiking activities require thorough physical preparation and proper equipment to ensure their successful execution. Physical condition is crucial because many accidents occur due to Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), and climbers can get lost by deviating from the intended route. Therefore, to enhance the safety of hiking activities, we have developed a web- based application on an Internet of Things (IoT) based monitoring device that enables tracking of hikers' locations and real-time recording of their health conditions, which can then be communicated to the system manager. This Final Project specifically focuses on device development using the V-Model development method, with the main outcome being a web-based application supported by the use of Machine Learning in managing hikers’ data to predict their conditions, which can be transmitted to the system manager or mountain climbing activity organizers. The testing results of the web application show that the web application successfully displays the location data and the health status of mountain climbers, as well as predicts the conditions of the mountain climbers through evaluation using user interface testing and manual integration testing with all test scenarios. These tests have produced the expected final results, supported by the final testing on users, including the acceptance of system functionality and positive feedback from users. text |

The solution system formulated in this Final Project is a web-based application for
monitoring hiking activities. This application is needed to address various issues in
hiking activities, such as poor signal quality for communication, difficulty in
tracking the location of mountain climbers by mountain climbing managers, and
the lack of real-time information about climbers. Hiking activities require thorough
physical preparation and proper equipment to ensure their successful execution.
Physical condition is crucial because many accidents occur due to Acute Mountain
Sickness (AMS), and climbers can get lost by deviating from the intended route.
Therefore, to enhance the safety of hiking activities, we have developed a web-
based application on an Internet of Things (IoT) based monitoring device that
enables tracking of hikers' locations and real-time recording of their health
conditions, which can then be communicated to the system manager. This Final
Project specifically focuses on device development using the V-Model
development method, with the main outcome being a web-based application
supported by the use of Machine Learning in managing hikers’ data to predict their
conditions, which can be transmitted to the system manager or mountain climbing
activity organizers. The testing results of the web application show that the web
application successfully displays the location data and the health status of mountain
climbers, as well as predicts the conditions of the mountain climbers through
evaluation using user interface testing and manual integration testing with all test
scenarios. These tests have produced the expected final results, supported by the
final testing on users, including the acceptance of system functionality and positive
feedback from users. |
