Summary:Abstract: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In the production process of Chemical industry, there is a direct connection between the performance of factorys operator with its product quality. To establish a good result in controlling the factory system, it is a need to perform operator training. Nowadays, computerized training has been issued to achieve quick and easy training by using a factory simulator. Hence, this final project is focused on designing a simulation machine as a part of PT Pupuk Kaltim, Tbk Kaltim-4 Operator Training Simulator (OTS), with an emphasizing on developing factory control system simulator within Emergency Shutdown System (ESD) and Interlock Safety System (IS) inside. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The designed Factory System Control is aimed to consist of several components, those are PID controller, valve, and process I. PID model parameter is obtained from the implemented PID parameters on Kaltim-4 DCS. On the other hand, valve modelling is done by implementing the characteristic graph curve fitting method from the datasheet. Process I is defined as a representing model from the controlled process. This part is modelled by empiric methode, which estimate the model by using input-output system data. This type of strategy is giving a good result with 76percent of average accuracy precentage. In addition, ESD and IS model is based on field implemented ESD and IS diagram. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> For simulation process, Scilab/Scicos software is used to dinamically simulate the Control System Model, ESD, and IS. The result obtained shows that this simulation has representated the actual state of field condition. And for functioning as an OTS simulation machine, the implementation of OPC communication system has also beeing developed. With this communication system, the simulation machine could make an data exchange with other software as the part of OTS. <br />
