Summary:Ever changing and uncontrollable microclimate condition during plant-based laboratorium works and research is a problem that could disturb the process and result of such learning experience. Such problems can be mitigated using a product such as a Plant Growth Chamber which has the capability to control the microclimate condition within the product for lab works and research. Unfortunately in Indonesia, such product are rarely met and the currently developed product are still lacking in the control systems. In order to be able to control such microclimate condition, it is required to have a physical case that helps the function of controlling the microclimate within by isolating the outside climate influence on the inside climate. The physical casing of the product must also be able to contain the plant samples, host the other required sub-systems do function properly, and as a representation of the product to the user. The physical design of the product has been renewed to lessen the space taken by the control system and electrical component in order to maximize the holding capacity for the inner space of the product. This design is created using a 3D modelling software and are made in collaboration with a 3rd party workshop. Plant Growth Chamber also requires an actuator system to change the microclimate parameters on the inside of the product. The parameters which are able to be changed by the actuators are ambient temperature and light intensity. The actuator are connected to a control module which communicates and translates the digital signal from the processor sub-system to change the work of actuator which effects the microclimate condition as according to the user. The physical case of the product has the holding capacity of over 1.000 Litres. The microclimate control range for the inner chamber are 5°C - 50°C for temperature and 0 lux – 18.000 lux for light intensity.
