Description
Summary:DKI Jakarta Province, Indonesia, is known for its flooding phenomenon that continues to occur every year. In Cipinang River, the flooding is not caused by drainage input but caused by the overflow of Cipinang River as a result of the reduced cross-sectional capacity of Cipinang River caused by the needs of local residents in terms of land fulfillment. The design discharge used was estimated with the synthesized unit hydrograph of SCS-Snyder method that was verified against the condition of discharge measurement in the field. The design discharge used is the upstream discharge of Cipinang River with a 25-year return period of 76.53 m3/s with a volume of 1,373,469 m3. In the existing condition, there are several flood control structures in Cipinang River including Cimanggis Reservoir, Koja Pond, Rambutan 2 Pond, Rambutan 1 Pond, and Dukuh IV Pond with a maximum storage amount of only 351,735 m3. Therefore, a handling design is carried out in the form of normalization from the downstream of the river, planning retention ponds, and sheet piles embankments so that there is no more runoff in the entire Cipinang River section.
