ANALYSIS AND MEASUREMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL RADIATION DOSE RATES IN CIMANDIRI FAULT KABUPATEN SUKABUMI

Environmental radiation dose rate measurements have been carried out at the Cimandiri Fault, Cibuntu Village, Palabuhanratu, Kabupaten Sukabumi. Measurements were made using a Geiger Muller Counter GMC-320 Plus radiation detector which can measure beta radiation (?), gamma rays (?), and x-ray ray...

Measurements were made using a Geiger Muller Counter GMC-320 Plus radiation detector which can measure beta radiation (?), gamma rays (?), and x-ray rays as well as the Air Things View Plus Air Quality Monitor detector which is used to measure radon gas, particles air (PM 2.5), carbon dioxide (CO2), VOC, humidity, and temperature. Location measurements were carried out at 90 measurement points which were generally located around residential areas, river banks, village roads, rice fields and other places to obtain a map of the distribution of radiation dose rates and radon gas concentrations. The coordinates of the measurement points are determined in advance using Google Earth with a grid measuring 1 km x 1 km with a distance of 100 meters which is then assisted by using the Global Positioning System (GPS) when in the field. The results of measuring the dose rate of environmental radiation showed that the highest radiation dose rate was (0.1600 ± 0.0005) µSv/hour while the lowest radiation dose rate was (0.0500 ± 0.0005) µSv/hour. The average measurement results for the environmental radiation dose rate were (0.0980 ± 0.0005) µSv/hour. The results of radon gas concentration measurements showed that the highest radon gas concentration was (153.00 ± 0.05) Bq/m3 while the lowest radon gas concentration was (20.00 ± 0.05) Bq/m3 . The average result of radon gas concentration measurement is (54.60 ± 0.05) Bq/m3 . Data on radiation dose rate measurements and radon gas concentrations were processed using the Surfer 21 and QGIS applications to obtain a contour map of radiation distribution at each measurement point text
