Land subsidence is a process of land subsidence that produces certain variables. The causes of subsidence can vary, but the most common are over-extraction of groundwater, underground mining, and geological activity. Land subsidence can have serious consequences, especially in densely populated areas. Prevention and early treatment of land subsidence is very important to maintain the security and sustainability of the environment and human life in the vicinity. Regulations and regulations are one of the important conditions in the realization of land subsidence mitigation and adaptation. Without clear regulations, the program cannot be effective or even run. In this regard, research will be carried out on regulations for mitigating and adapting to land subsidence. In this study used qualitative methods by conducting literature and other studies. The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) implemented Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs) to manage groundwater withdrawal and prevent land subsidence. Currently in Indonesia there are no specific laws and regulations regarding the reduction and adjustment of land subsidence. However, there are several government regulations that can be used to prevent land subsidence. In the future, the regulations for land subsidence will soon be clarified so that the mitigation and adaptation programs will be better.
