Previous research conducted by Yudhanto et al. investigated the use of a woven mesh with a rhombus profile as an insert feature. This study aims to manufacture interlaminar crack-stopping features with alternative geometries, and Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion (VARI) composite, which has previously been employed by Widanto. The insert feature material is Polyamide 6 (PA6) filament which is then 3D printed using fused deposition modeling. There are defects in the print results of both rhombus and honeycomb profile insert features. However, the defects can be overcome and those occurred were only on the perimeter of the sides. In composite manufacturing using the VARI method, plain woven carbon fiber CK6273C material will be used. The final results of the actual mass and thickness of the printed insert features, both with rhombus and honeycomb profiles, are found to be very close to the estimated values generated by the slicer software. The VARI composite manufacturing process up to the infusion stage has been successfully conducted. text
