MAGNETIC BASEMENT MODELING AT KARIMATA STRAIT USING MAGB_INV

Indonesia is a country with abundant natural resources, such as tin, which is commonly found in granite rocks. The Granite Lead Lane (Tin Belt Granite), which passes through the Karimata Strait, includes the Natuna Basin, Natuna Island, Karimata Island, Bangka Island, and Belitung Island. The pre...

The Granite Lead Lane (Tin Belt Granite), which passes through the Karimata Strait, includes the Natuna Basin, Natuna Island, Karimata Island, Bangka Island, and Belitung Island. The presence of granites, which are igneous rocks, is usually located under sedimentary rock as basement. Based on this, the presence of granite can be correlated with the depth of the basement. The depth of the basement will provide a value that indicates the location or presence of granite rock and then indicates the presence of tin mineralization. regarding the estimation of basement depth as magnetic basement depth based on water magnetic anomaly data from aeromagnetic surveys using a program known as MagB_Inv. By conducting this research, it is expected to be possible to identify the depth of magnetic basement in the Karimata Strait area and interpret the results of magnetic basement modeling based on the geology of the Karimata Strait area. This goal is achieved by carrying out stages in the form of literature studies, data processing, and analysis of image results. The data used in this study were obtained from the official geoportal site of ESDM, which contains marine magnetic anomaly data in the area between Sumatra Island and Kalimantan Island. Based on these data, digitization was carried out to obtain contour maps using ArcMap and gridding using Oasis Montaj. Then do the calculation of the average depth estimate using the Radially Averaged Power Spectrum (RAPS) and magnetic basement modeling using MagB_Inv. The average depth value is 4.5 km, with a range of 3.2 to 6.3 km. Based on the geology of the Karimata Strait area, it is suspected that the magnetic basement in the Karimata Strait waters is igneous rock, especially granite, which indicates the potential for the presence of tin. In addition, based on the modeling obtained, there is also a basin known as the Bangka Basin. text
