This increased mobility has led to a rise in the number of vehicles used by the academic community. However, the available parking areas on campus are insufficient to accommodate the growing number of vehicles, causing negative impacts on parking users, including students. Users face issues such as a lack of information about parking quotas in each parking area, difficulty in finding available parking spaces, disorganized vehicle positioning in parking locations, and ineffective payment methods. To address these problems, a mobile application connected to a cloud server is proposed to enhance parking efficiency on campus. The development of this smart parking system follows a system engineering approach, involving stages such as concept development, engineering development, and post-development. This project has been carried out up to the engineering development stage. The proposed solution offers various capabilities, including providing information about available parking quotas, identifying vehicles through their license plates, offering recommendations and directions to the nearest parking locations, and enabling automated payment processing. Usability testing of the mobile application, using the Single Easy Question (SEQ) method for all tasks, yielded scores above or equal to 6 (on a scale of 1 to 7), indicating that the application is considered user-friendly. Additionally, the System Usability Scale (SUS) assessment resulted in a ‘Good’ rating with a score of 82.5. text
