However, these drugs are often being used inappropriately which can lead to the emergence of antimicrobial resistance. Pharmacists who work in pharmacy facilities have a key role in reducing antimicrobial resistance by rationalizing the use of antimicrobials. Poor KAP (Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice) of pharmacists can increase the case of antimicrobial resistance. This study aimed to evaluate KAP regarding the use of antimicrobials in community pharmacists in West Java. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted using an online questionnaire to assess the KAP of 364 subjects. Univariate statistical analysis was used to determine proportions and frequency of participants’ demographic variables. Bivariate analysis was used to determine associations between demographics with KAP levels of participants using Mann Whitney, Kruskal Wallis, and Chi-Square tests with Minitab version 21. The results of this study indicated that pharmacists in West Java had an inadequate level of knowledge (92.3%). Pharmacists in West Java also showed negative attitudes and practices towards antimicrobial use and dispensing (68.8%; 67.9%). The factor that influences the score for knowledge dimension is age variable (p = 0.035). As for attitudes and practices dimensions, gender influences the scores obtained by respondents (p = 0.000 for both dimensions). Levels of KAP are influenced by gender for all three dimensions. text
