INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/73986 Banten is experiencing rapid industrial development along with an increase in the amount of waste. Panjang Island is one of the islands in Banten Bay. Pollutants in the Panjang Island are dominated by industrial activities and shipping traffic. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of Pb in sediments and the water column in the coral reef environment in Panjang Island and to determine the effect of season on the distribution of Pb concentrations. Data collection used a purposive sampling method. The data collected consisted of sediment samples, water column samples, and oceanographic parameters. Pb metal was analyzed in BRIN laboratory using the AAS method. The results showed that the Pb in sediment samples during the second transitional season was 4.23 – 16.91 mg/kg while in the western season it had Pb of 3.82 – 23.36 mg/kg. In the water column, the Pb during the second transitional season was 0 – 0.0294 mg/l while in the western season it had 0 – 0.0286 mg/l. Some stations have concentrations of Pb in the water column that have values above the threshold, that it indicated can affect the condition of coral reefs. The concentration of Pb metal in the second transitional season tends to be higher in the western part of Panjang Island waters, while in the western season Pb tends to be higher in the eastern part of Panjang Island waters. Direction of movement of ocean currents, it is indicated that affected the distribution of Pb in the waters of Panjang Island. text |
